Restaurant Manager & Experienced Chefs required for a la Carte restaurant in Glen Waverley
Restaurant Manager
We are looking for hands on, energetic individual to run the day to day operations of the restaurant.
The applicant should demonstrate the following criteria:
- Proven management experience in the hospitality indus try, ideally in a similar role within restaurants / cafes.
- Extensive food and wine knowledge is essential.
- Coffee making skills required and bar work highly desirable.
- Strong leadership skills - You lead by example.
- Must possess excellent customer service skills, have a friendly, outgoing personality and be able to effectively manage your staff and work as part of a team.
- Demonstrated experience in recruitment, staff training and development to ensure consistently high levels of customer service are attainable
- Must work all busy shifts. i.e. be flexible to work either day or evening shifts & weekends on rotation as needed & be available to fit in with restaurant peak periods (Christmas, Summer, Mothers day etc.)
- Must be able to work under pressure, be responsible and reliable
- Strong interpersonal & communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- A high level of personal presentation and grooming
- Require reasonable knowledge of Point of Sale ordering system (or quick to learn our POS system).
- Good computer literacy skills
- RSA is essential
Your role & responsibilities as a restaurant manager will include:
- Rostering
- Stock Ordering, Inventory Control and stocktaking
- Maintaining a high level of customer service and professionalism
- Ensuring correct execution of daily service, opening & closing procedures
- Closing till & float preparation for next day
- Hiring, training and motivating staff
- Establishing clear communication with Head Chef and coordinating Functions/Events
- Planning & preparing function/set menu’s
- Effective maintenance of budgets, financial targets, COGS and wage % to ensure business profitability
- Oversee OH & S, food hygiene standards, general maintenance, security, cleanliness etc.

Experienced chefs required
• Qualified chefs with minimum 3 years experience.
• Full time / part time positions.
• Must be available on weekends & be flexible to work a combination of morning or evening shifts.
• Knowledge of a la carte service in fast paced café environment highly regarded.
• Must have experience in grill & pan work
• Must be a team player who is self motivated, with high level of energy and enthusiasm
• Have a passion for good quality fresh food
• Must have own transport for late night &/or early shifts, therefore prefer applicants living in the local area
